, usually caused by
LEPTOSPIRA INTERROGANS SEROVAR ICTEROHAEMORRHAGIAE
and occasionally other serovars. It is transmitted to
humans
by the rat and is characterized by hemorrhagic and renal
symptoms
with accompanying
JAUNDICE.
